Illuminate Pediatric Therapies is in network with Maryland Medicaid (all MCO plans). We are considered out of network with all other insurance plans.

Being an out of network provider means we do not contract directly with an insurance carrier. Fees for services are due immediately after delivery. In addition to paying out of pocket, families often use:

• FSA/HSA Funds​​​

Speech language therapy is an eligible expense for FSA/HSA funds.

• Superbills​​​

We can provide a document called a Superbill that can be submitted to insurance for reimbursement. If you would like to submit Superbills to your insurer after paying for services in full, we highly recommend calling your carrier prior to scheduling. When calling we suggest asking the following:

Does my plan offer reimbursement for out-of-network benefits? Including habilitative services?

Does it require pre-authorization?

What is the process for submitting for out-of-network claims?​​​

Private speech therapy uses different guidelines to qualify children for services compared to other programs. It is possible your child may still benefit from therapy even if they were previously assessed and did not qualify at that time.
